So far, testers can collect 44 items, memorize 12 recipes, and annoy 1 enormous crater boss.

The game

A block world with a strange little pulse

Voxel Slop is a Java/LWJGL sandbox MMO built around one persistent shared world. The terrain is deterministic, the caves are deep, the water flows, and every player leaves changes behind for the next person to discover.

01

Dig & build

Break terrain into collectible drops, place blocks back into the world, climb ladders, and see how far down one bad idea can go.

02

Cook & craft

Turn wood into tools, smelt raw iron, cook meat, fire glass, build windows, and keep a close eye on your hunger.

03

Boss fights & raids

Face the Obsidian Colossus now, with more bosses on the way. Voxel Slop is being built for a world packed with dungeons, raids, and dangerous fights best faced with friends.

Notes from the workbench

The world learns to move smoothly

Alpha 0.3.17 gives players and creatures stable, server-timed motion, keeps networking off the render loop, and prevents stale movement replies from yanking players backward.

Movement quits fighting back

Alpha 0.3.16 stops delayed server updates from dragging players backward, keeps falling in sync through menus and cutscenes, and safely resolves midair reconnects.

Multiplayer finds its footing

Alpha 0.3.15 keeps movement recoverable after a server correction and smooths other players using the server clock instead of bursty packet timing.

Bring a bucket

Alpha 0.3.0 adds iron buckets, collectible source water, and flowing placed water—all decided by the multiplayer server.

The server is the boss now

Alpha 0.2.0 moves inventories, drops, arrows, PvP, mobs, the crater boss, health, hunger, time, and weather under one authoritative multiplayer simulation.

Windows joins the world

The same player build is now packaged for Windows x64 and Apple Silicon Macs, complete with a server-address field for invited friends.

The friends-and-arrows update

A distributable client, a headless server, persistent block edits, embedded arrows, safer caves, and a much deeper world all landed in one extremely busy alpha.

Trees have agreed to stay broken

Chunk rebuilds no longer flash old tree meshes back into existence after the wood has been chopped.
